My view is that poxpower, by implying that a woman's understanding of money
I have no idea what gender or age anyone is when I reply to anyone here.
There's nothing insulting about saying that just because someone understands finances that doesn't mean they understand economics and more specifically money itself.
If you watch the news or listen to politicians they constantly repeat talking points that belie no understanding of money.
I'll give you the best example: You will often hear "Rich people hoard money, that's why we should tax them and have poor people put the money back in the economy"
That's someone not understanding how money works, at all.
What is hoarding? Functionally it's the same as destroying. If you give me 20$ and I burn it, I didn't hurt "the poor", I hurt myself.
What is money? It's an I.O.U. It represents that you did someone a favor and in exchange you got a piece of paper that entitles you to a future favor. You never cashing in the favor only hurts yourself.
But again people don't understand money in that way, they think the piece of paper itself is the wealth. The wealth is the service you previously exchanged for the piece of paper, not the piece of paper.
This lack of understanding causes people to have a lot of problems talking about policies because they think shuffling money in XYZ ways has results that it logically cannot have if you understand what money is.
