Sprint PCS Account Hacked
« on: May 28, 2017, 05:53:50 PM »
Never thought this would happen to me, I always try and create a strong password and security answers...but my account was hacked. The hacker, some how changed the email address on my account to their email address and had all notifications and security codes sent to their email.  They then ordered 5 Samsung Galaxy 8 phones and I never received any notification about the order from Sprint since they emailed the Hacker and not me.

Today when I went into to look at my upcoming bill I was floored to find out what had happened and that I now have an $800.00 bill.  Called up Sprint and they referred me to their Fraud department which won't open till Tuesday.  The Sprint Operator said I had to pay the bill and it will take up to 30 days to resolve.

Have done some research online and it appears that is more common that I would have thought.  The crooks hack accounts, order a bunch of phones and ship them over seas.

It's amazing how vulnerable these web sites are

They said you had to pay the bill? I would absolutely NOT do that.

I wouldn't pay the bill, either. Maybe you need to talk to someone above just an operator to have them freeze that bill while they investigate.

Thanks.  I agree I definitely need to talk to someone in Management.  Doesn't make sense that it takes 30 days for the Fraud Department to resolve a cases.

One thing that I did not realize was that I was authorized for 10 lines.  I don't see a way online how to change that.  I would never need more than 3 lines and if that was my authorized limit the transactions might not have gone through
