Sold my 2015 Mustang
« on: July 09, 2019, 03:21:22 PM »
I bought a mustang almost 5 years ago. Really loved the car, paid cash, and only had 37K miles on it. I traded it last Saturday, got a decent trade and purchased a 2017 Mazda CX3 with 6k miles. I paid about 4k difference between the two. ( I had a 4 cyl turbo mustang so not a big difference in price).
I have been having back issues at 48 due to bone spurs, and it was hard to do things with my older teenage kids. I am having a little bit of remorse as I miss the car, but I think I will be ok in the winter ( I live in northwest Illinois). Hoping I feel better about it day by day.

Was that meant for "Share your Badassity"?

I had a Mustang for a few years and sold it.  Same state.  It was terrible on snowy roads.  I got it out of my system and settled on front wheel drive cars after that.

Replacing a vehicle with a more expensive vehicle is badassity? The CX-3 isn't even that much more fuel efficient than the Mustang (25 mpg vs 29-31 mpg). It'll take 40k miles to make up the extra $4k in fuel savings. Assuming similar amount of driving as the Mustang that will take over 5 years, even ignoring opportunity cost.

Yes, it can be if it's a much better vehicle for you.
