Software for financial planning
« on: April 01, 2013, 04:57:54 PM »
Hi,
I found a lot of useful spreadsheets on the web which provide the usual road-to-FI calculations.

But I was wondering if there is some kind of planing software for financial development? All I found so far is mainly for book keeping and only take into account what I have right now.
The most basic function I was looking for was adding one-time incomes such as (foreseeable) inheritances to my calculations at a certain point in the future and plot the overall development over time

But maybe there is even something fancier out there? Maybe even some Monte-Carlo-Style Portfolio development analysis?

Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms for this since I only came up with the Vanguard nest-egg-calculator.

Is there any (a bit more) advanced finance software out there?

cheers
IC

first post btw :)

I haven't personally used it, but from what you're saying, I think Planwise is what you're looking for...

most brokerage type accounts will have some sort of calculation programs but they're pretty basic.
