Sling TV Provides ESPN (and other channels) for Cable Cutters
« on: February 10, 2015, 05:29:52 AM »
As a cable cutting spots fan, I almost wept when I saw this announcement yesterday.  And I did weep when I found out that Apple TV did not have it as an app.  Any news on when Apple TV will carry Sling TV?

No NBCsn means no football, maybe some day. But a step in the right direction.

HD Network TV (which is free) is quite good for professional and college football.

I'm after EPL ( UK), NBC bought up the rights for 2 years. I recently quit cable and now stream on Fire TV , I wonder how long til internet providers start charging per GB streamed.

Yes, the net neutrality vote in the United States will be a critical moment for consumers being able to choose content and save money by cutting the cable cord.

NBC normally show the late saturday game on the main (free to air) channel. The rest - tough luck. :D

Sling are adding AMC to the line up and the sports pack will be showing BEin Tv so theres hope for showign more real football in the future....

The AMC deal is a complete game-changer.  This is going to drive a lot of original programming, drama snobs - like me - to Sling.

I have been trying Sling TV since this weekend.  I got it solely for ESPN/ESPN2.  The interface through my Roku has not actually worked very well; however, it does give me access to the Watch ESPN content on the Roku, so I have just been watching through that.  Very happy with it so far, and with no contract I may even cancel it during the lighter sports months (summer/early fall for me).

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
