Retire Early Homepage update
« on: May 01, 2017, 08:34:07 AM »
As he has done every year around May since 2002, John Greaney has compared the fortunes of several retirement portfolio allocations since he retired in 1994. He does so in both today's and inflation-adjusted dollars. In addition, he explores how these portfolios would have fared in a less auspicious retirement year, 2000.  Enjoy.

The 2000 chart really shows how sequence of returns matter. The S&P 75/25 retiree can see, 3 years in, that their retirement isn't going as planned and she can either cut back expenses or earn some money to make up for the lower returns.

Thanks for posting the link.  Interesting to see all the difference allocations compared in table format.
