It's a little bit about your stuff. A lot of it is about your liability if you mess up the place by mistake or if someone hurts themselves at your place and sues you. I'm not a big fan of insurance ingeneral, but renters insurance is relatively cheap and worth it when needed. A one bedroom with 100k/300k liability and 20k personal property coverage shouldn't run you more than 200 bucks per year. Read the fine print. It covers quite a lot.
