How much should you have for a 1 bedroom apartment with generally modest belongings?

Have you ever filed a claim?  Any details you can share on the experience?

It's a little bit about your stuff.  A lot of it is about your liability if you mess up the place by mistake or if someone hurts themselves at your place and sues you.  I'm not a big fan of insurance ingeneral, but renters insurance is relatively cheap and worth it when needed.  A one bedroom with 100k/300k liability and 20k personal property coverage shouldn't run you more than 200 bucks per year.  Read the fine print.  It covers quite a lot.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
