Get $200 bonus from Capital One SavorOne after a $500 spend!

I'm not an expert but I believe this is one of the lowest-hanging fruits in the CC bonus world.

https://capital.one/3jjo5l1

I get $150, you get $200.

And the rewards are decent, especially for the Mustachian whose greatest spend tends toward the foodal area.

"They can enjoy 3% cash back on dining, entertainment, popular streaming and at grocery stores as much as you do, plus a $200 cash bonus once they spend $500 within 3 months of account opening—all with $0 annual fee."

UPDATE: I started using this card at the beginning of last month and my own initial sign-up bonus just posted. Well that was fast ... !

Also, I note that this card posts a certain merchant that also carries non-grocery goods AS grocery, earning 3%. My AMEXes that tout 3% on groceries do NOT count this merchant as grocery and only give 1% on it. It pays to check the details.

Redstone Federal Credit Union $100 sign up bonus when you open your first new checking account and meet the following requirements: 1.Access online banking 2. Use debit card 5 times.

I put this here because it's a great bank to sign up for to help meet credit card SUBs as they offer $530 in initial CC funding. Also you can open multiple checking and savings accounts each with their own CC funding. Saved me from having to manufacture spend several thousand dollars.

Unfortunately it's only available in these areas: Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia.

Feel free to use my code as I'll get a $100 as well : DEA928105

groundfloor.us is a website where people take out loans to fund real estate fix-and-flip operations. As an investor, you make loans to those fix-n-flippers. Terms are in the 6-18 month range, and rates are in the 8-12% range.

If you use my code, we both get $50. https://www.groundfloor.us/new_referral/g5c263

The Amex Gold card has a 75,000 points bonus going on right now for referrals, and you only need to spend $4,000 in the first 6 months to get the bonus. And you can choose between the personal and business card. Most sites like the points guy application you only get 60,000 points (I just checked). The best perk about this card IMO is getting 4x points at grocery stores and restaurants/takeout/delivery. It's my go to card for all of those things and the intro offer is worth $1,500 according to TPG.

Also, another great perk I use monthly is a free $10 for Uber Eats and a free $10 a month for Grubhub/Seamless. I do the pickup option so I don't pay delivery fees or tips and it covers a meal for 1 from many places. Pays for itself from that alone.

http://refer.amex.us/DAVIdBS9ki?XLINK=MYCP

I get 4 extra points per purchase for 3 months.

Offer ends 12/1/2021.

Here's my Southwest referral link. Thanks :) I have been debating whether it is worth hanging on to my SW Priority and keep paying that $149 annual fee. It's totally worth it when I am travelling frequently. But not so much right now when we mostly stay home due to the pandemic. For now, paying the extra money just to hang on to the card since it is not always easy for us to get more Chase cards.

Limited-time offer with any Southwest Rapid Rewards personal Credit Card. Earn up to 100,000 bonus points with any Southwest Rapid Rewards personal Credit Card. Business owners can earn up to 80,000 bonus points with Southwest Rapid Rewards business Credit Cards. I can be rewarded too, learn more.

BTW if anyone is looking to work towards a SW Companion Pass, here's my cautionary tale from my big CC hacking fail back in 2019:

Quote
Travel Hacking fail today And this is a doozy!!

Back in December, I was all excited about finally being at 1/24 which means DH was finally able to apply for Chase cards again.  Naturally my first thought was to earn the Southwest Companion Pass again (have to earn 110k points in a calendar year)

So my DH dutifully applied for the Southwest Priority Visa (40k pts for $1k spend plus 20k pts for $12k spend) and the Southwest Business Visa (60k pts fo $4k spend). Problem was, I am not used to the graduated points of the Priority Visa and had my mind fixated on meeting the $12k spend in January. I think I thought the first 40k was for a $2-3k spend, not a measly $1k. So I tell DH to spend as much as possible on both cards.

January rolls around and I finish off the $12k spend as planned. Then I take care of the $4k spend. Today I log in to Southwest to take a look as I have been waiting to book flights for our mid March cruise and was surprised to see a 41k point balance. To my horror, I discovered 40k pts posted on Dec 28 2018!!! That means we will only get bonuses totaling 80k points in 2019 - NOT enough for the Companion Pass!!

DH and I spent the next hour freaking out that we were now 30k pts short of the 110k pts we need to earn in a single calendar year to get the Southwest Companion Pass.

Finally, he convinced me to take a nap. When I woke up, it occurred to me that our high spend has generated points too. My guess is we will earn about $94-95k points in 2019. So we will only be short about $15k points. I don't want to spend money on getting points (started thinking of balance transfers with a 5% fee) so I think we will just let our regular spend over the next 4-5 months take care of the points we need.

I don't plan to fly again until at least late summer/fall or possibly not until Dec 2019 so no big deal if it takes longer to get the Companion Pass. A bummer of course, but we can roll with it.

For our mid-March flight, we considered ponying up some cash to boost our SW points earning but ended up deciding to use our AA points for the flight to Miami and our SW points for dirt cheap flights home. (My mixup means I don't get to fly for free for our March trip - thankfully worked out to be only about a $200 or so mistake)

Then I hit yet another snafu (did I mention u gotta be flexible when travel hacking?!). I have AA points that will expire soon. So to generate account activity,  I figured I would book my flight with my miles and DH would use his miles to book for the 4 of them. I booked their 4 flights first at a decent MileSAAver rate of 12500 miles each for a one way flight. But then when I logged into my account, all the cheap award seats disappeared leaving only 25k mile seats available! Of course, I only have 16k miles

Now I am hoping that over the next few days, 12.5k seats show up or I might have to bite the bullet and pay $214 for my ticket. On the good side, many flight prices for March have just dropped in price this week - right on schedule.

Thanks for the link!  I'm planning a $2000 purchase, so I might as well get something for it!  Southwest miles don't expire, so it seemed like a good deal for me.  I'm getting the card with the $65 annual, and am unlikely to keep it past a year.  We'll see.

The best part with Southwest miles is if you use it to book flights, you can cancel / switch to a lower fare at any time for $0 fees and the points get immediately refunded to your account and don't expire. Wayyyy better than a travel credit that has to be used withing 1 year of booking date.

Fello Mustachians:

Help me reach my goal of reaching in bonus points. Rather than spending money on holidays, I want to take the rewards to invest it for future FIRE.

When you sign up for the Capital One Venture Card - you get a sign-up bonus and I get a small bonus too. You get about $600 in travel when you spend 3K (Tip: When I received the card, I used it to buy things I truly needed, like gas cards, grocery cards, costco, etc. This not only let me plan for the year, but I was able to get about 600 for travel/gift cards).

Sallie Mae has a CC where you spend $1k in 3 months and get $200 cash back. I can vouch for the card, works out pretty well and easy to earn bonus. They have a referral program; if you are approved through the link below we both get a $50 statement credit. Additional referral details:

Quote
Referral Credits will be posted to your account as a statement credit within 5 business days after each referred individual is approved for a card through your referral link. Each eligible friend will receive a $50 statement credit within 5 business days of their first purchase or cash advance, which must be made within 180 days of opening the account. You are limited to a maximum of 10 successful referrals in any 12-month period. To be eligible, your account must be open and current when you refer friends, qualify for a Referral Credit, and when the Referral Credit would post to your account. Your participation in the Program is subject to the Refer-A-Friend Program Terms and Conditions. Cosigners and authorized users are not eligible to refer friends.

Referral link here:
credit.salliemae.com/raf/e/9D2E8

Thanks in advance and let me know if you have any q's, happy to refer!

I wanted to post my referral link for Avail Car Sharing:

https://share.availcar.me/x/MRjiZD

You'll save $50 on your first rental (in addition to there always being a $25 off promotion code... my first rental was practically FREE!) and I'll get a $50 credit! I used them twice and had a great experience both times. No hidden fees, also insurance is included since it's owned by Allstate.

Here's my ref link for US Mobile: https://usmobile.com/referrals?data=Y29kZT1DT05aR1RVJm5hbWU9REVOSVNF (it's 50% off up to $10 in savings on your first plan; I would get the same off one of my month's bill). The other is DEEK3G43C for Flashfood. Many of our local grocery stores participate and I can often find organic, free-range meats at 50% off. You do want to make sure you think the product will be safe for consumption as they are all products nearing their best-by date. I have heard the produce can be iffy and have not tried any from apps selection. First purchase for you (if over  $10) is $5 dollars in rewards for you and me :)

Here's my referral link for Trusted Housesitters (25% off; 30% off between US Thanksgiving and the end of the year).

https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/refer/RAF752982/?utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=refer-a-friend&utm_campaign=refer-a-friend

FYI it's a great time for sitters to join. There are currently way more sits than sitters in a lot of areas, but homeowners in the UK and most of the US (outside of the super popular areas) especially are struggling. If you want to visit the UK this summer and are willing to take care of pets in exchange for free accommodation, now is the time.

Way back when I joined it was quite difficult to get your first sit and you had to do things like 2-3 day local sits just to get some reviews, but that's not the case now. Recent joiners are enjoying a much easier time (unless their profiles and applications are terrible, of course; you still have to make some effort!).

Here is my Evidation referral code.  If you’re into tracking body metrics and science, it’s pretty cool and easy enough to accrue points.

https://tinyurl.com/2pxpa6mm

Our research has shown that working out with friends can make you more active. Refer your friends, and for each friend who signs up, you’ll both earn bonus points! We’ll automatically credit you and your friend with 100 points once a new friend creates an account using your referral code and connects an app or completes an offer on Evidation. You can earn friend referral bonus points for up to 20 of the friends you refer. After you have referred 20 friends who activate their account, you will no longer earn bonus points for referrals.
