Quality Dollar stores
« on: August 31, 2014, 02:18:38 PM »
Do you guys frequent local quality dollar store chains? I am not really fond of dollar tree or family dollar. 99 cents is good for few things, but they do not sell much brand name products. Instead,I go to king dollar (local dollar store chain in Houston). They sell many name brand products. These are the prices from my last visit:

2 pack D batteries-energizer $1
Lysol toilet bowl cleaner 32 oz $1
Brand name dandruff shampoo $1 (sells for $5 )
Books for kids $1 (scanned them with my app, and i got prices $8 and up)
Generic bleach 96 oz $1
Walgreens dry cleaner sheets 80/$1
Target store body washes 24 oz $1
Tommee tippie cleaner $1 (sells for 4-5 dollars)
Variety of generic medicine $1

I am saving $100s of dollars shopping here every year. it is amazing!!

Do you guys have such local dollar stores that sells brand names? What do you guys usually buy from such stores?

We like Dollar Tree. I mainly get party supplies there. Helium balloons are only $1 and they have a nice selection. I get hair accessories/ rubber bands for my daughter and they have decent food storage containers too. I didn't like the quality of the shampoo/conditioner though. I stay away from most of their food products.
