Proud mama
« on: March 06, 2017, 09:00:08 AM »
My 22 year old has been working her first "real" job (full time, benefits, etc) since about October.  She came over yesterday to visit and bragged about saving up her first $10K.  This is on top of 15% in her 401K.  Her income is TINY so this is a huge accomplishment.  She has it in a plain old savings account and I hinted at investing some of it, but she's still very green about finance so I'm taking baby steps to make sure she understands everything.

She's always been frugal and this is just an evolution of that mindset.  I hope her future spouse shares this mindset.  It makes things so much less stressful in life.

Quick, she hasn't a moment to lose! Send her over to the JLCollinsnh stock series and walk her through the steps. Both of your future selves will thank you for it.

But first, give her a hug and a high-five from me, please.

That really IS awesome, Giro!!

That's huge: her responsibility, her intelligence, her decision to take such excellent care of herself. I'm thinking your parenting had something to do with some of that :)

Thats great news! and yea now as we always worry about our kids you hope she meets someone that is in the same mindset! I have two shortly heading off and I hope they make smart decisions like that. The worry never seems to end.
