My 22 year old has been working her first "real" job (full time, benefits, etc) since about October. She came over yesterday to visit and bragged about saving up her first $10K. This is on top of 15% in her 401K. Her income is TINY so this is a huge accomplishment. She has it in a plain old savings account and I hinted at investing some of it, but she's still very green about finance so I'm taking baby steps to make sure she understands everything.
She's always been frugal and this is just an evolution of that mindset. I hope her future spouse shares this mindset. It makes things so much less stressful in life.
