Professional References Checked Using an Automated System
« on: March 18, 2019, 01:16:45 PM »
I'm going through an interview process, and found out the hiring firm checks reference through an automated service called Checkster. Anyone have experience with this? Just thought it was a bit different from the usual phone calls. The system also wants 7 references, which seems higher than normal.

Seven seems like a crazy number. I've never heard of anything other than three, and I even struggled to come up with that for my first job out of college. I guess I could just round up my seven favorite coworkers and ask if I had to do that now.

I feel the same way. I had the standard 3, plus an alternate for just in case. The request for 7 took be my surprise.

That's a bit unsettling.  So do the references have to rate you using the dial pad when called?

Some of them I provided the e-mail addresses, so they got a message to the survey link. Others only had phone numbers, so I don't know how Checkster did it. Maybe they rate through the phone system and record messages? If I find out how they did it over the phone, I'll post an update.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
