I work in a preschool. I think it is highly beneficial for the kids to learn to do things without the crutch of their parents. Parents don't always realize how much assistance they give their kids. The kids also learn things that the parents wouldn't even think to teach their kids. Kindergarten is fast paced, and just because there are no "requirements" to get in, doesn't mean things aren't expected.

I am pro preschool, however, if you are able to spend a good amount of time teaching your kids the skills they will need for kindergarten, I think you will be fine.
