pad the blow for me

We did the very extensive math on a big purchase (retirement home) and decided that now isn't the time.  It would upset our nice stable financial boat.

Still, I am sulking. I really wanted it. Wah wah! 

Tell me how good and smart we are being. Help take the sting out.

I'm guessing you'll get a retirement home much sooner this way, even if it isn't that specific one.  Lots of fish in the sea.

That's good. I will write that one down.

I have to call the Realtor and bank today and let them know we aren't moving forward with it. I feel better today than I did yesterday.

Spouse pointed out that we will have our primary home paid off in 3 years and that since we plan on relocating overseas that we can just sell and put the money aside till we land back stateside.
