Could the person responsible for site design please consider adding an underline to hyperlinks on the blog posts that shows when the mouse isn't directly on the anchor text?

There's almost no difference between the colors of the hyperlinks and the main text, and they're hard to find.

People might click around the site more if it were easier to find the links.

Hmm..  I've never had a problem finding links.  Depending to the responses to you suggestion, maybe You should just use a custom style sheet or plugin the standardize your web browsing experience.
