Neighborhood Electric Vehicles
« on: November 24, 2013, 09:49:15 PM »
There have been many posts about dedicated bicycle ways, but I think that it makes more sense to have dedicated routes for light, slow, electric vehicles. Riding a bicycle would be safer on such dedicated routes. Bicycles only work when there is no rain, no substantial hills, and no substantial loads of groceries.

I attach a link to ‘Neighborhood Electric Vehicles’, and other links to communities which have alternate road system for light electric vehicles. Also a video on NEVs.

You sure you're on the right forum? You can absolutely ride a bicycle in the rain, up hills, while carrying groceries.

My bicycle works great up substantial hills, in the snow and ice, and while carrying groceries.  Maybe your bike's engine is malfunctioning . . .

Give it a couplea whacks, that usually gets 'em going again.

Cycling in the rain isn't a problem at all if you are going to shower and change clothes at your destination anyway (like in any commute over 7k).

Too many whacks and it tends to make a mess then fall asleep.

Or if you have rain gear.
