Navient/Sallie Mae buys Earnest
« on: October 05, 2017, 05:27:54 PM »
The evil student loan giant that has misapplied payments, violated terms of loan contracts, and colluded with colleges to stick customers with fraudulent charges has bought Earnest, a relatively new company that got started in the student loan business.

I am a customer of Earnest and have been a victim of Sallie Mae and Navient. Looks like it's time to refinance again.

I had this problem with BoA. Get a mortgage, BoA buys it. Get a car loan, BoA buys it. Get a rewards credit card, the rewards program gets sold to BoA.

Eventually, all I could do is keep a close eye on the accounts. Sure enough, I had to fight them on several different occasions.

These folks are plain and simply lovely. Withdrew an extra payment, and coincidentally they require 30 business days to reimburse it. This was the last payment to these smucks, too. Still harassing them trying to get the payment and close this account.
