Mustachian Stoke
« on: May 01, 2016, 08:22:12 AM »
I've realized that when I go a little too long without checking the forums, the consumer temptation begins to creep back into me. I'm still relatively new to Mustachianism but have always been good with money. Regardless, MMM and the awesome community on here has kept me on track and you all stoke the Mustachianist lifestyle flame thats led to some great changes in my life. THANKS PEOPLES!

In a world where rampant consumerism is considered preferred it is easy to get caught up by the current. Having a place where you talk to a lot of people that think differently gives you a life vest to hold on to.

Humans are social animals and have a natural urge to fit in, so being surrounded by people who encourage a more frugal way of living is going to have an effect on you.

Very, very true. Without this community, I am sure I would have regressed back into my old ways long ago.

You become what you focus on.

Visiting a community like this helps keep you in the mindset, for sure.

With the amount of consumerism in our culture, reading stories here (perhaps the Share Your Badassity section?) can help counteract that and motivate one to be even more kickass!  :)
