Wait a minute, there...

This story is about folks that basically live by dumpster diving and recovering discarded food and trashed items.  I don't want to sound like a snob, but that's definitely a line I would not have ever considered crossing.

If Mustachianism was about extreme frugality, I would definitely call these folks "More Mustachian than MMM himself," but it's not

In any case, I've got no problem with people living off the waste of others.  It's just not a path I think would make me happy, so I'll pass.  And the $5k/year number is misleading, since she is working a job and receiving a housing subsidy that could be in the 10's of thousands per year in exchange.  It's just regular employment with fewer options on how to spend the money.
