Interesting to see early retirement in mainstream media.  Nothing earth-shattering for readers of this blog.

Cool. The more the message spreads, the better.  So many people who are frugal (Mustachian without knowing it) could retire, but just don't even realize it's a concept.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.

Makes me wonder how much more a year MMM will earn off this place with each article posted.

Why does that matter?

IMO, the more that know about Mustachianism the better, and money made is irrelevant, other than it might encourage him to keep the site going.

The more people know, the better for his bank account. :) I'd be unwilling to bet that the money has much impact on his decision to keep this site going. I would imagine if he ever felt it wasn't worth the enjoyment he got out of it, he would sell it or close it down without another thought.

Probably, for the most part, but it might have a small impact.

This site is a business just like Chevron or Trump Tower. As long as it makes money it will be here.

Perhaps you have that backwards; could it be that it's such a wonderful thing that as long as it's here, it'll make money?

Also, aside, does that make Donald Trump an early retiree like MMM?

No no no, all he does is shout from that soapbox spouting incendiary nonsense that no reasonable person in their right mind could believe! There's no way you can FIRE in this economy! :3

That's not a very nice thing to say about MMM.  I hardly would call his pontifications 'soapbox spouting', but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

yep this is the boat i was in ... wish i'd found it in 2011 ... my life would probably look a lot different right now.  did a calculation on how much i was saving - chose to buy a boat instead of max my roth b/c i'd have over 5MM by 50 and that was more than enough to retire much earlier than most.  but now i'm pushing 37.
