MMM in Bicycling Magazine
« on: September 15, 2016, 07:38:05 PM »
Saw an interview with MMM is in the latest Bicycling.  Didn't have time to finish reading in the doctor's office, so tried to find online with no success.  Anyone else seen it?  Was going to post on FB for my non-mustache bicycling friends.

That's funny, I stopped subscribing to bicycling magazine about 5 years ago because it was like "Consumer Sukka Magazine-Bicycle Edition". Every damn article was about some new shiny carbon bit, or the latest laterally stiff/vertically compliant 10,000 wonderbike.

Its funny that MMM even associates with them.

I have not found it online but read it at the grocery store. It's super short and basic though.

He did specifically take a shot at the carbon bit/crazy expensive bike like rothwem mentioned which I'm sure their advertisers loved, ha ha.

Here is a link I found for it, it starts on page 48 of the mag (52 of the nav bar).

I do love that the article shares a page with an ad for $10+ socks in a mag that advertises for $10K+ bikes.

His response there just drips with irony considering every other page of that magazine is for expensive toys and clothing.

Thanks for the article link! I am not surprised by the consumerist content -- just like TV, a publications like this recognize that advertisers are their primary clients. And it's good seeing MMM reminding everyone of the trap of Tiny Details Exaggeration Syndrome. You can still have a heck of a lot of fun even with a cheap bike!
