Medicare suppliment Plan F
« on: February 13, 2018, 02:40:08 PM »
My husband has Medicare supplement Plan F thru United Health care. The payments are set up to come out automatically out of our checking account. I have a Costco Visa and like to charge everything I can on it to get the bonus bucks at the end of the year. I just called United Health Care and asked if we could set up monthly auto payments thru the Visa. The guy said no, that it has to come out of a checking account. GRRRR! Do any of you know of a work around on this? First the guy said I could pay with Visa then he said no. I am not sure if he meant I could call in each month to make the payment but could not set up an auto payment plan. I should call back to clarify but if I have to call in each month that would be a pain in the butt. Why wouldn't United Health Care take the Visa card??

Interesting question.  I'm following along here as we just signed up Monday for our Plan G & Plan D.  It never crossed my mind to have it paid by a credit card.  Our payments are set up to come out of a checking account automatically each month.

Maybe I will call our insurance guy to ask that question.

Because they would wind up paying a fee to Visa.

Hey there, Though I am not sure about payment through Visa, I think you should not just rely on that guy. You should enquire about it from some other company, Agency or broker. With this, you will get know, whether it is the case with your Insurance company or everywhere it is the same thing. I know one agency, the Health Exchange Agency. My grandmother's insurance was taken from there. Initially, we enquire from there and they do not charge anything for enquiry.
