I had to post this right away. My LOA for 3 months this summer was just approved. Whoop Whoop!
This is step 5 on my FIRE Plan
Step 1 -- figuring out the FIRE is something people actually do, and that I wanted to, too.
Step 2 -- Figuring out the retirement math and how much $ was needed, and saving it.
Step 3 -- Figuring out what I wanted to do in FIRE, and where money could come from (FIRE to something, not FIRE to run away from something), and then making it happen, starting 9 months ago...
Step 4 -- Talking to DH about it and getting (partial) agreement. (DH is afraid of full time FIRE for me, so agreement to 12 week trial was a win)
Step 5 - Getting the LOA to try it out, decide if I want to proceed to Full time.
Step 6 - making the lower living expenses and lifestyle choices happen in only 3 months.
Step 7 - getting the lifestyle business generating revenue...
Step 8 - deciding if FT FIRE is for me...
Some hard steps coming up, including not treating the 3 month LOA as a vacation instead of a trial for FIRE.
