La Paz/Cabo
« on: April 13, 2015, 08:22:01 PM »
Hey all,
I am taking a trip to Cabo in a few weeks with a few buddies from college. We have a rental car and plan to start in Cabo, hug the coast, then head up to La Paz, then finish a loop back to Cabo. The goal is to chase some surf, catch some fish, and hopefully get some diving in. Anybody ever been down this way and have any suggestions, must-sees, restaurants to try, surf breaks to check, etc?

Been going to the Cabo area for almost 25 years...don't really know where to begin there is almost to much awesomeness to describe. The pacific side from Cabo up to Todos Santos is almost one great surfing beach after another, Playa Cerritos being really good, with a cool beachside bar scene too...the fishing is pretty much world class with lots of great charters out of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. And in terms of diving, go to Cabo Pulmo...there is a great little community there and has one of the best living coral reefs in the Sea of Cortez. Tons of great dining, the seafood being out of this world.

Jeez, all this Baja talk has me itching to head back down...alas, probably not till mid-October.

I went to La Paz for a week about 10 years ago. I don't remember too much, but definitely check out Todos Santos. Great little surf town with some awesome food. We rented surf boards on the beach for $10 for the day, and it came with a bottle of Corona. :)

Awesome. Thanks for the input Jon_Snow and Cecil. I will be sure to check out those areas. I am so anxious to go and explore what I believe could possibly be a place I relocate/snowbird to when FIRE hits.
