January income/expenses
« on: February 03, 2015, 06:04:38 AM »
Okay, so this is the first time that we've actually put together an income/expense report for our monthly expenditures by practically tracking every single cent that we took in and spent.

All in all, we didn't do too bad, especially because this month included an unexpected San Francisco trip that took more money than we wanted it to.

Fixed costs (mortgages, HOA, loans) $3200.19
Utilities (electricity, gas, water etc.) $272
Monthly Costs ( phones, internet, gym, pets, car maint, etc.) $469
Food (groceries and restaurants) $772 <- Yes, the San Francisco trip
Fun (My and my wife's "fun" money, camera fund, gifts) $774
Additional Income $55 <- My Etsy store, wife's Ravelry store

Total January income: $10,101.24
Total January expenses: $5,490.93

Total take-home savings rate: 46%
Total savings rate (including 401s): 66%

We hope to bring that 46% number up a bit in February.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
