Introducing Me
« on: December 17, 2014, 09:44:16 AM »
I have very recently discovered the Mr. Money Mustache site. I was looking at buying a car for my wife ( we are currently a one truck family) and I found what seemed like a good deal on one with some hail damage. I was doing a Google search to see what impacts there could be from the hail damage when I came across an entry on this forum which then led me to the MMM blog. Long story short I didn't' buy the second car and am now looking to sell the truck and get a smaller car. I bought a bike trailer for my wife to haul the kids around in (she's actually really excited about that). Now I'm reviewing my spending habits to look at ways to save.
I graduated grad school about two years ago and after landing my first job my spending habits quickly escalated. I recently moved to Aurora Colorado with my family and we bought our first house. It's a bit of a fixer upper but in a good neighborhood. Something about being a homeowner made me start looking at the future a lot more seriously, so when I came across this blog I was ready for a change and it struck a cord with me. So thank you Mr. Money Mustache and thank you to all the forum members here. I'm excited to start making changes in my life and to be a part of this community.

Welcome! It's great to have you around. :) Good luck improving the budget, and never hesitate to ask questions when you're not sure quite what to do.

Welcome, good sir.  I made car buying mistakes too before I discovered the MMM blog (and early retirement itself) and I'm kicking myself for it, but better late than never.  Keep your eye on the prize...the prize of financial independence.
