I saved $9.87!!! Citi Price Rewind
« on: March 10, 2017, 09:03:36 AM »
My primary credit card is the Citi Double Cash - 2% back on everything.  I have other cards that I sometimes use for specific things, but generally not.

Anyhow they have a feature called "price rewind". Basically you register a purchase you made (receipt, model, etc) and they scour the internet for a better price. I only registered one item, a ~$450 freestanding tub filler (we just remodeled) and i wasn't hopeful. 2 months later I got nearly $10 back!!!

So clearly I'm going to start registering everything. But my question is, what's in it for them?  Basically I can now buy everything local with good customer service, get the price of random shady internet shops, and Citi foots the difference...

What's in it for them?  They get you to charge everything on their card.

I knew Citi did this, but I had forgotten about it. Just looked it up and it is $500/item up to $2500/year. I will definitely be doing this more often on large purchases.
