I am applying for a job
« on: September 24, 2014, 05:16:47 PM »
I am excited, applying and have an interview for a nice part-time job.  I have been mostly a stay at home mom, and 20 hours per week might be good.  I am hoping for a good hourly wage.  In the summer, the 3 kids will need to go to a child care.

Excited.  Has anyone gone through being an at home mom to a part time job situation and how did the transition go for you?   Did you bank 100% of your new income?

My wife went into the workforce when the youngest of our four was a high school senior.  She was nervous but quickly figured it out and did well.  She used 100% of her income to help the kids going through college.  When the last one finished, she quit and started a big garden!

Good luck to you.

I am trying to make the same transition from stay-at-home mom to working mom.  I applied for 3 jobs and sent my resume to another contact just yesterday.

The plan is to bank most of the income, while using a small percentage for some home improvements.  We could also pay down our mortgage, but at 2.5%, investing the money seems the way to go.

Good luck to you, KBecks2!

I'm making the opposite transition (mostly stay at home to only stay at home) as soon as I can financially. The extra stress on everyone isn't worth the exta income.
