I saw that and came here to see if anyone was talking about it. It's cute. I wonder what they'd put as the female version. Seems like every time they have one that really hits home, the main character is a guy.

LOL!  They should do a sequel with a man who buys his lunch everyday, so he can enjoy being chained to a desk making money for other people for the rest of his life.

I was taking a drink of water as I read this and almost spit it all over my keyboard. Too funny!

He should know that plastic wrap is cheaper than foil and I sure hope that turkey was derived from a whole bird he cooked himself rather than prepackaged slices (cooked one myself this weekend it turned out great!).   A nice walk outside at lunch may help restore some of his joy.  Also, why in the world is he watching 3 hours of TV a day?  Cutting the comercials about stuff you "need" to be happy increased my joy immensely!

As usual, the Onion is spot-on.  There's a special kind of despair that washes over me when I'm starving at my desk and staring at a bruised banana and some baggie of stale TJ's pita chips that I brought from home.  In an ideal world i'd bring a gorgeous salad or pasta dish every day, (I often do!) but on the sad desk banana days I just cut myself some slack and spend $8 on a decent meal.

Most of the time, the only spending me or my husband will do Monday thru Friday is the $25 or so I may have spent during my workweek on food. (his meals are catered at work (jerk!))  I consider this pretty good in the grand scheme of things.

I'd be tempted on a sad banana day, too. Better to eat out once in a while when you need it than to get so sick of the whole thing that you give up entirely.

Right now I have a big bag of Walmart-brand trail mix with mixed nuts, raisins, and M&Ms stashed next to my desk. It won't last long, but trail mix and free office coffee have been a nice lunch-snack. That and granola bars. I need to get back to actually making proper lunches. I tend to eat a big breakfast before I leave so I don't need quite as big a lunch.

I love it, as a fellow lunch-bringer.

That's because it's politically incorrect to use a woman as the butt of a joke - suddenly you're attacking all women.
