How could I get handbags manufactured?

I have an idea for a handbag that I would like to get manufactured, preferably within the US.

Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing or could recommend where to have them manufactured?

Yes, I know there are lots of websites about getting things made in China via Alibaba but would prefer a US based manufacturer (if they still exist).

A local company (bagolitas by Janice, if you want to look them up) used a network of local seamstresses for many years. I knew quite a few people who sewed for them.

They make them in China now. The US is too expensive
