How do you normally dispose of your trash and rubbish? Where I live, if I just put it by the road, it would be gone before the garbage collector's truck came by in the morning. Private people go around through the night in their pickup trucks and they will take anything. And I do mean anything. And if they didn't pick it up, the regular garbage/trash service would take it. (Is the propane tank the problem? I don't know how to dispose of a propane tank.)

-See if someone wants it through Buy Nothing Project
-See if someone wants it through Craigslist free
-See if there's a local scrap metal place that will take it- sometimes they even do pickup

Barring all those, drive it to the dump and pay the disposal fee.

The scrap metal guys will probably take it if you put it on the curb. Those get picked up quickly (they are worth $10-$15 ish each)

Fill it with charcoal.

Toss a lit cigarette in.

Dump several gallons of liquid oxygen in, from a safe distance.

If it's a large grill, you may need to repeat this several times.  If it's a small grill, it should more or less vaporize.

This is how I got rid of my last old grill.  I've also used this method to dispose of an old dented/cracked storm door, an old lawn mower, an numerous other junk items.

It continues to surprise me how badly some people want the stuff that I think is literally trash. It sometimes takes some effort, but there are people out there who will gladly take away things like this. I'm glad, though - less waste is always good.

In our neighborhood- we have an annual junk away day- where large items would be picked up for free. Otherwise- we could buy a special sticker. Before using the sticker- I would put the item out next to the trash- it was almost always picked up.

No, put it out with a big sign that says $10. It'll disappear faster in a lot of areas "for free."

Toss it in the scrap pile and when it gets big enough to be worth a trip, go get your money. A BBQ is not worth anywhere near $10-$15 as scrap.

Sometimes I'll just put it out by the trash pick up with a sign that says free. Other times I'll just put a free add on craigslist. Other times still, I'll get out my saws all and cut it into pieces that fit in my regular trash pick up.

I've done this before.

I may have to do this in a couple years. I may have fun and just throw it off my second story deck.

I got rid of my last grill this summer by hauling it to the curb and sticking a free sign on it. It was gone in less than an hour. I kept the old propane tank to have a spare for my new grill which came with a propane tank so I never run out of gas with a raw steak.

My waste service will take any metal for recyling.

Last time I needed to do this, I dismantled the grill into pieces small enough to fit in the bin.  I tossed the few plastic pieces in the garbage, and kept the propane tank for the next grill

If you have a trash pick-up service, check to see if they do a limited number of free over-sized pickups.  I recently found out we get 4 per year.  You just have to call and schedule it.  Also, you may be able to break it up into small enough pieces to fit in your cans.  I did that recently and put the lid in the can one week and the base in the can another.

I had to get rid of a grill once because it was a propane grill and I was moving overseas. It wasn't allowed to be shipped. I just gave it away for free on Craigslist.

We have metal/trash collectors. Anything metal I want to get rid of get's set to the curb the night before trash collection. It's usually gone within an hour. I've even helped folks load large pieces of "trash" into their trucks.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
