Hello, I am trying to be a fellow MMM member here in Canada.

How is everyone today? :)

So I've been reading a lot on finances, dripping, read a book called "The Lazy Investor", made a thread on drippinvesting which sent me to the MMM website and now I'm here on the forum to ask more questions. :D

So I understand cutting costs and the dire necessity to get rid of debt.   I've got quite a bit of it, (35,000) between the wife and myself, however I know that I could get rid of it within 15~ months if I lived bare nuts, I'm ok with that, she's not so I have to work with her a little.  Between the two of us we gross 110,000/year, so my question is after bills ect , where do I start putting my money?  I want my money to make me money and I'd honestly like to retire at the age of 40 if I possibly could.  I have the mindset and dedication but I can't seem to find that next step after debt/saving.

I would like to point out that we are in Canada, if you need more information than that let me know and I can see what I can give you. :)

Welcome!
For a nuts and bolts discussion, you could post on "Ask a Mustachian".  There are guidelines at the top of the page.
Really basic Canadian info/guidelines?  Make sure you understand the tax rules so you are not paying more than you should.  RRSPs are great provided you use them correctly.  The limits just went up on TFSAs - read Gordon Pape's book on them. (Side note - I wish I had $1.00 for every time I have recommended his book, I would be rich.) Be smart about mortgages.
AND - remember that Canadian rules =/= American rules, so any American advice should only be used for the philosophy, not the specifics.  Don't read American personal finance books.
Read the blog - Mr. MM is Canadian after all, and it resonates.

As the other's have mentioned: read, read, and read some more. I have sat down and read every single one of MMM's blog posts. It does take awhile but this is not an overnight get rich, retire early kind of scheme anyway. Essentially you should drive less, bike more, eat out less, cook at home more, don't fall into the many consumerist traps and live life to its fullest.
