has a part time job turbo charged your fire date?
« on: September 14, 2018, 10:00:21 AM »
For about 6 years I worked Sunday nights at the restaurant that I deliver for, in addition to working lunch and dinner shifts during the week. I quit that shift in 2006. For me, in essence that Sunday night shift was my part time job. Factoring in that I saved all the income from it, invested it pretty successfully etc, I believe that it probably accounts for around 125 to 150 k in my current net worth, and should enable us to fire  a few years earlier, say three or four.  Not bad for working an extra night a week for six years.  Anyone else done a work an extra part time job now/ retire that much earlier cost benefit analysis?
