Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Time management is the art of blowing people off and not feeling guilty.

No reason to feel guilty about blowing people off - but not sure what it has to do with time management

I forgot to mention the quote is from Dilbert author Scott Adams.  It has something to do with deciding whether or not to make time for people you really don't want to talk to when they're just going to be a drag on your day.

Politicians are like a baby's diaper, they both need to be changed frequently for the same reason.

Money doesn't buy happiness.  My favorite quote of all.  Surprising for a mustachian, but I have found it to be very true.  Happiness comes from within.

Money doesn't buy happiness.

There's a country song out right now that goes something like:

Money can't buy me happiness
But it can buy me a boat....etc.

Pretty catchy tune IMO: https://youtu.be/mQPjKSVe1tQ

I don't even like country music, but yeah...that's kind of catchy. It makes my maths hurt though. Thanks for the link.

Not only catchy, but sorta mustachian. The boat, truck, cooler and beer of his dreams are all pretty modest choices for a newly minted multi-millionaire, LOL. Thanks for the laugh, CS.

Well, maybe the kayak and fishing rod are mustachian. It would be hard to say the same for the boat and truck (and cooler with a model name/# that likely costs $500 or something) but I guess if you're a multi-millionaire they are all relatively modest.

Always liked anything George Carlin.  He had a quote something like this:

Think about how stupid the average American is.  Then think about the fact that half the people are stupider than that.

The great part of this is that it's actually not a "smart" statement.  "Average" is synonymous with the arithmetic mean.  Since with any intelligence metric you're most definitely looking at a skewed distribution, exactly half of Americans most certainly do not fall short of the mean.  The mean, in general, is not equal to the 50th percentile.

I think he meant to say "Think about how stupid the median American is."   In this case, half of Americans will fall short of this figure.

Come on, George.  You're better than that :)

Don't sell George short. He used the word average because he knew half his audience was below the mean.

Richard Feynman (paraphrased):
If you can't explain it to a freshman, you haven't understood it.

Actual quote from David L. Goodstein about Feynman [source]:
Once I asked him to explain to me, so that I can understand it, why spin-1/2 particles obey Fermi-Dirac statistics. Gauging his audience perfectly, he said, "I'll prepare a freshman lecture on it." But a few days later he came to me and said: "You know, I couldn't do it. I couldn't reduce it to the freshman level. That means we really don't understand it."

Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values. - Ayn Rand

Also Ayn Rand is very mustachian in a lot of ways - even if she's heavy handed in her delivery a lot of time, and bastardized by the GOP

To all those who seek happiness in comfort and self indulgence:

"This is the true joy in life, to be used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, to be thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap. To be a force of nature instead of a feverish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am a member of the community and as a member it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can before I die. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch that I want to make burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."
