Get rid of Christmas decorations?
« on: November 13, 2015, 10:52:07 AM »
I moved into my first house in 2002.  I went crazy and bought three bins worth of Christmas decorations that I have used once.  Half the stuff is still new.  Would you guys just get rid of the decorations?  It would not be very mustachian if I had to buy again later.  I have the storage space.

I live alone and I realize while I like Christmas decorations I will never put them up for myself.  If I have family over for Christmas Eve or Christmas day I don't think I would have room for a tree and all the guests.  Whoever designed the house made the bedrooms and bath take up most of the house with a tiny eat in kitchen and tiny living room.  The master suite is almost twice the size of the living room!  (Master suite is a waste of space in my mind.)

Can you share them with neighbors and friends? Then when you visit, you can see your decoration in action without having to put them up yourself.

I would get rid of them if you haven't used them in over ten years.  You might offer to share them with friends/family, but I'd pare down the collection.  The reality is your tastes my change.  Thrift stores and dollar stores are littered with affordable Christmas decorations if you decide later you made a mistake.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
