I'm installing a couple of revised beds this year to grow some food. For those of you who grow a kitchen garden what are some of your farm-to-table recipes?

IMO, nothing better than pesto make with fresh-picked basil. I just put in two plants and thinking about two more. Yum!

I would assume that you mean fresh fruits and vegetables vs canned or frozen?

Sauteed zucchini with fresh basil and oregano is lovely and fast.  Zucchini is satisfying to grow because it produces so much in so little space.  I also make zucchini casseroles and hash browns.  You can grow everything you need for spaghetti sauce and salsa as well - tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, onions, herbs, garlic.

Last summer I tried radish leaf soup.  Basically just saute some onion and garlic, add diced potatoes, radish leaves (have to be fresh, don't use grocery store ones), and chicken broth and boil it all together.  Season with thyme, salt, and pepper, then puree.  We produced all of the ingredients for that one, including the chicken for the broth.

And of course the best garden produce is eaten right in the garden - snow peas, tomatoes, baby carrots.  Kids like raiding the garden too.

Hi.  I don't really have a single recipe to offer, but I grow Roma tomatoes and can them in the fall.  They make the best homemade spaghetti sauce and also I make a V-8 type juice and can it.  I also make and can salsa.  I do love to eat fresh salsa though, made with the tomatoes and peppers I grow in the garden.

I'm anxious to get out there and start planting!  But, will have to wait just a little bit longer as I am in the North.
