Feedback on my blog
« on: September 07, 2016, 05:51:00 PM »
Hi All,
May I have some feedback on my blog I have started recently?
Candid feedback is welcomed, I have a fair idea of where I would like this one to evolve but any feedback will give me some indication if I'm on the right path.

It's in my signature. Thanks!

First let me state that I'm an American, so I may have a different standards concerning grammar and spelling.

I find your site very difficult to read. I would suggest you get an editor to correct your spelling, grammar and sentence structure. For example this quote from your article Early Independence Calculator....
"Ok ok ok… I start off but saying that I have done some mistakes with calculations, nobody’s perfect right! And we all learn along the way."

This sentence should read:
OK,ok,ok....I'll start off by saying I have made some mistakes with calculations. Nobody's perfect, we all learn along the way.

I also find your web design difficult to navigate. Why is there a banner across the top with a RSS link and why is it so off center? Why does the subscribe to blog area refer to joining the Frog? Who is that? I would suggest you look at the home page of other financial blogs to get some ideas for improving yours.

I am refraining from commenting on the site's content. It seems to be directed to people much younger than I am and Aussie, which I am not.

Hope this helps and good luck with your project.

I do not have the time to read through the posts at this time, but I thought the design was interesting. Are you the developer? I will check back, but I like I am not a huge fan of the grid style layout. I personally like a line layout. Just my preference.

I will check back and give you more feedback.

Thanks for the honest feedback and for having taken the time to review.
1/ Grammar: Good point, I should prob use an automated checking tool.
2/ Layout: Agree too. The reason of the display is the fact that I do not have enough content yet. It will be changed later down the track as content increases.
Saying this, I might check if they are other sites I can use as a reference.
3/ I still believe that content is more important than look. Even if look counts a lot, if not 50%. Many blogs, websites, that I follow have average, if not very bad looking websites and the reason for me to follow them is what the content brings me.

Thanks. No, I'm not the designer, they are free designs you can grab when you create your site
