do you know a good BTC exchange?
« on: December 30, 2020, 04:55:50 PM »
I have 0.00305469 bitcoin, which is currently worth about $88, at SwanBitcoin. Swan isn't an exchange, so in order to sell my bitcoin and convert to USD, I have to transfer to an exchange, like coinbase or similar.

Does anyone have a favorite bitcoin exchange? I'd like to find one with the lowest fees, etc. I'm only doing this one transaction and then I'll be out of bitcoin for good.

I've been using Bittrex, also selling BTC for USD. Fees are currently 0.35%. I haven't looked recently whether that's the lowest, but I've been using them for a while (spreading my sales over multiple tax years) and had no complaints other than forgetting where to find the withdraw/deposit buttons every year.

You might be better off with signing up with either Bitrefill or Fold app where you can buy giftcards with bitcoin. They have a ton of gift cards for all different stores and you can even earn decent rewards back @ 5%+ (not that it matters for you in this case). I only suggest this since it is such a small amount for you and purchasing giftcards through these services only requires an email address whereas signing up on an exchange would require the full KYC account opening and you'd need to go through setting up your account with your bank and all that. Much more of a hassle. So I'd just suggest you go buy yourself a giftcard on Amazon or nice dinner with GrubHub/DoorDash and treat yourself to a quick, easy, hassle-free cash out that way instead.

Hope that helps. Cheers.
