Dividend envy
« on: June 07, 2016, 09:59:00 AM »
Anyone care to disclose epic dividends they received?
I recall about 30 years ago, a guy I was in boarding school. I saw an uncashed dividend cheque for about 50k sitting on his desk. His surname was Pilkington.

Dividends can be from other forms as well. For instance, a solo contractor may pay himself 120k of his 200k earnings and write himself an $80,000 dividend check for the difference.

So far my best dividend has been my chocolate money (Nestlé), which is still sub-$200. Other than that, my tractor money (DE) and Bandaid money (JNJ) and oil money (CVX, XOM, RDS.B) have been stable and regular, which I feel like is the best thing you can ask for.

Well, I bought ORC almost a year ago, dividend is 19.8% on my purchase price, plus I'm up 16.3% on the price. $8.46 to $10.39.
I have about 10 dividend payers, mostly REITs, but I don't recommend
them to those wanting stability.
