Dangers of Housework
« on: August 26, 2016, 12:25:57 PM »
My wife ask me to clean the fan in our bedroom.
Ok, I'm dusting! If I'm going to dust I might as well do a great job of it.
I started on the headboard, removed everything cleaned, dusted and cleaned the mirror. Put everything back
in it's place. Looks good.
Then for the fan I got a wet towel and removed the bulk of the dust so as to not spread it around the room.
Dusted and cleaned all the blades, the motor and the blade brackets. It's going great.
For the dresser with a big mirror, I got out the ladder so I could get all the dust off the top.
At one point moving between the dresser top and the ladder, and  I did what I thought was a minor twist of my knee. Ouch, OK finish cleaning the top, remove everything, clean and dust the shelves, clean the mirror, clean all the little crevices in the drawers, even got out an old toothbrush and used it.
This was on Sunday, by Sunday night, my knee was very stiff, it has ached everyday this week, this is Thursday and I'm still limping and it is still stiff.
I'm not available for dusting and I don't do windows, until further notice.

In the words of my beloved mother: "Your'e doing it wrong!"

Be sure to say that to yourself in your most naggy voice to get the true feel.

Thank you. If my SO asks me to dust I now have evidence against such dangerous activities!

Oh, it gets worse, she didn't even notice I had toiled for hours over a hot stove... er, I mean I dusted
and cleaned.  ;-)
What she did notice was, her stuff on the dresser had been moved and I couldn't get it fit all back
in place, she couldn't either.

If it helps you can tell here, " and he still has a limp two weeks later".
Maybe find an xray of a bad knee online!
