Car prices have dropped! top is in!

I regularly check my local dealerships for the latest inflation or just ridiculousness of vehicles.

brand new quad cab Hemi 8 speed for $16k. kind of shock; it has to be a mistake or something is wrong but there are several others that are low 20s.

They were just saying on CNBC that the top was in this year and auto sales will be down next year.  Not traders but reported based on data they collected. But kinda lends to what your noticing.

PBS Nightly Business Report ran a short segment noting that the number of vehicles sold in November were robust, in part due to sales incentives on black Friday. http://nbr.com/2017/12/01/nightly-business-report-december-1-2017-2/

A couple of the more interesting statistics
- Ford had the best November sales of its F-series pickup since 2001.
- average price paid for a new GM truck/SUV was $37,000.  I couldn't get past the thought of paying $500/month for more than 6 years even assuming no financing charges.

I just got a 2017 Mustang 4-cyl clown car for $22,250 + tx/tag. It had a factory sticker of $28.5K

I sold my 2005 Corolla CE with manual crank windows to a friend's kid who was rear-ended, totaling his $3,500 car.

I mean... that's a gasser, but a new quad cab for $16k is bonkers.  I'd put up with both Dodge and gasser for that price.

I paid $15k for a 15 year old diesel crew cab long bed with a bunch of mods...

Can you link it?  We are looking and at that price might pull the trigger.

That one sold but there are others that are 4x4 for $23k. It is McKinney Dodge in Easley SC. On my phone, which is a pain with pics or I'd link.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
