I took your advice to heart and went for walks amongst the forests and fields of my neighbourhood. Made a schedule and am trying to follow it.
Feeling much better already.

Glad to hear it. Exercise is so, so important. Especially if you have a desk job. You'll have more energy and sleep better which will improve the mood. It can become a positive spiral. To what others have suggested, I'll add: get involved with a group outside the house at least once a week. Try different ones until something sticks. For me, it was a foreign language class. I didn't learn much but I met some great people and it was a fun activity and something to look forward to once a week.

I didn't read the whole thread but...

1) Go for a walk outside during lunch [ it helped me. It gets the blood flowing - I don't crash in the afternoon/evening anymore and you get some sunlight]
2) Cut the cable and go do something productive

I might suggest that you change up your schedule and food prep habits. Make multiple lunches on the night before your work week begins so you have more free time in the morning. Prep multiple meals for your freezer one day a week to eliminate a few trips to the store after work.

Exercise, even if indoors. Use your habits as a reward. Do 25 pushups and 200 crunches before TV or computers turn on. Run or bike a bit in the sun. It will improve your attitude and your alertness during the day and its far less effort than you think.

Check with your doctor, tell him how you ferl or write it down while yourr feeling it to take with you so it accurately captures your condition. It could be a thyroid problem for all we know, just check up on it

Not sure if someone else has mentioned this, but are you allowed to vary the length of your lunch break? I'd personally find it exhausting to drag it out for so long because it keeps you at your workplace for an extra hour. I'm not saying to give it up entirely, but having an extra half hour at home to unwind could be nice. If you want to (or have to) keep it a full hour, going on a walk like others said is a good idea.

As for sleeping immediately when you get home - do you typically sleep well at night when you're less anxious? A crappy mattress can make it impossible sometimes, and if you've had the same stiff brick for 20 years it might be worth replacing. A quality mattress will last years and is worth it, considering how important sleep is for your overall health.
