I'm self employed, it's raining business is slow, I'm bored.
I made a few bumper sticker ideas.

I like to insert my replacement, "Hardworking Taxpayer Money".

"Hardworking" (adjective) is one word. Use it to describe nouns (like "taxpayer"). "Hard" is also an adjective, also used to describe nouns (like "work"). So that's how "hardworking" can be one word while "hard work" is two words. Different grammatical functions.
