Blog post about debt, travel, and working abroad
« on: December 12, 2016, 09:45:06 PM »
A blog post by a woman who travels the world by working and doing some mild credit-card churning. Not entirely a Mustachian mindset, but definite glimmers of it in here. Interesting approach, especially if it works.

I don't see anything wrong with taking advantage of work visa's for young people. But it's not like she's figured it all out, she's just delaying a u.s. based career until 30. Lots of people don't even start saving for retirement until 40.

I think she's setting herself up for more lifetime work than she has to, if she knew about MMM and combined her idea of work to live as a semi-ER strategy while saving for full ER.  In other words, she's still living paycheck to paycheck, like most, but getting to live her dreams at the same time, versus most people living paycheck to paycheck but stuck doing things they hate.  She could optimize better to also have a high savings rate and snowball towards full ER from her semi-ER travel position.

So it's not perfect, but I like her plan better than 99% of the rest of society.
