In accordance with the scientific process, I am only changing one variable at a time. This past weekend, I soaked my pintos then drained and rinsed them before cooking.  No improvement.

Funny you should post an update on here (appreciated, btw- love the scientific approach!). I virtually never have issues with beans, but yesterday, made chili with a new brand of kidney beans. It did not go well for me. DH, however, who ALWAYS struggles with beans, is having no issues.
