I'd like to use a program like Mint, YNAB, OneDollar or something similar to track my spending against a planned budget - I'd like to see where I stand at any given point for any given category. The problem I've had in the past is that my bank settles all weekend transactions late on Monday night. So basically, my budget tracking account is like 3 days behind over the weekend when we spend most of our money which kind of defeats the purpose. I bank with a State credit union. Do others have these same timing issues or do other banks settle transactions more quickly?
As a result, I do it all manually but would prefer a way to automate.
Thanks,

If you use YNAB, you can manually add your transactions as they happen using your phone app. That's what I do.

I've been using Mint for years, also don't have transactions post on weekend, and I'm not sure what the problem is - can't you just glance over them on Monday? How much spending could someone who hangs out in a Mustachian forum do in one weekend?

Banks only post transactions at the end of business days. Any transaction from Saturday or Sunday will post Monday night. If Monday is a federal holiday, they will post Tuesday night.
As another poster said, YNAB allows you to track manually (and when you import your transactions on Tuesday, it will auto sync with your manual input).

Perhaps you need to use a bank that has a real time system.
All payments, transfers and credits between account holders within my bank are processed instantly.
Amazing how in this day and age, some banks refuse (or are unable) to invest in technology.

I think OP is referring to purchases like groceries, etc., which show "pending" as soon as you swipe your card, but don't clear until the end of business. I would hope that every bank instantly posts a transfer, like from savings to checking, or a credit card payment.
