Back on Track (Any body in GJ CO)
« on: August 05, 2013, 09:24:00 AM »
Hey all
I found this site about a month ago and love it.  My wife and I have always been ok with money but should have been doing better.  Due to some school loans and over consumerism we are not where we would like to be.  But that is all changing.  I have always been known as the cheap one in our group of friends and have always loved the title but have also been a bit embarrassed privately because I knew i could be doing much better.  Starting about a year ago I said the hell with this and we started on a much better path.  Luckily I have a wonderful wife who is 100% on board.  Today we are selling our toyota matrix to put money toward school debt.  While it is an awesome car it is a 2009 clown car for us considering we have student debt to pay off. Hoping we have the school debt paid off by the end of this year.

Basic Info
I make wine for a living and love my job put need to find a side hustle to make some more money to get further ahead.

My wife is a OT and again loves her work and makes great money on extra shifts

We both love DIY and are slowly remodeling our house.  Currently put new flooring in most of the house.  fixed alot of problems that came with the house.  Installed a 400 square foot flagstone patio and am currently finishing our office/guest room complete with Murphy bed and build in desk and shelves.
Main reason for the post is to introduce our selves and see if there are any others in the grand Junction area.

Once again thanks for all the info on this site.  I look forward to learning a lot from folks way ahead of us.

I like to drink wine ;)

Good on you for all the DIY! And for having your spouse on board too - that's an awesome place to start.

Well I am not in the GJ CO area, but I do love the idea of a Murphy Bed.

Did you build it yourself or buy one?

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
