I am a manager in a manufacturing plant, and one of my big 2020 goals was around training for our technicians.  Obviously everything is going to hell, lol, so this is far down on the priority list.

Given that this seems likely to go on for quite a while, and that we are minimizing groups of people and also not allowing visitors in, I need to adapt things.

The easy answer is just move everything to online.  The part I struggle with is that the technicians are not computer savvy, and are all self-described hands-on learners (most have intentionally chosen not to go to school once they finished high school, because they hated it).  Saying "sit in a room and watch a lecture" is not likely to hugely move the needle on their knowledge and capability.

We were about to start a 4 week course- 2 hours each week with a Lean Six Sigma instructor.  That would now need to be done over Teams, with everyone calling in from their cube or house.

Anyone have insight or ideas on how to accomplish this?  How do trade schools/similar manage this stuff?
