Anyone here use PagePlus wireless?
« on: May 30, 2014, 12:47:12 PM »
My wife insists on keeping her IPhone 4s. And I dont want to force her to Android because I don't want to hear all the complaints when she does not like it. Her contract with VZW is up a week from today and Page Plus just started officially supporting VZW IPhone 4 and 4s.

We need to get her off VZW because she is currently paying 65.00 a month for just her phone. (I am on Republic Wireless now and so far so good)

Anyone here have any issues with PagePlus? I know its a VZW MNVO so my wife should not really see any changes other than a lower bill right?

I know someone that used to use Page Plus.  He liked it.  He had an iPhone 4 and used I think the $30/mo plan.  No issues that I knew of, but I know it took a bit to get it set up right (few days) at first.

I've been happy with Page Plus thus far - $12 plan with a basic smartphone.  No difference from Verizon as far as I can tell but obviously I'm not using much data if at all.

Do it!  I left Verizon behind and use Page Plus with my iPhone 4.  This was back when the iPhone 4 was not officially supported.  Somehow my voicemail doesn't work but now that it's supported, I should see about getting that set up.

I do their $30 plan where you get 1200 minutes, 3000 texts, and 500 MB of 3G data.

It's excellent for me.

+1 for Page Plus
I used it for over a year with a flip phone, lost my phone and got an android.  As mentioned, it was not the easiest to set up and I needed to call (if I remember right I called Christmas Eve and someone was there and talked me through it).
I hate the website and hate that I can't scroll easily through my calls and texts or even do simple sorts but I hated Verizon's website too.
I have the $12 plan

Ive been using them since about 2009. Awesome coverage and if you have problem the techs are good although it sucks getting ahold of them. We are on the $30 plan.

I have Page Plus, technically, but I use the online dealer KittyWireless because it was easy to set up monthly auto pay, I get usage alerts and I've found the service good (they recently added a $0.75 surcharge, so I may switch to Page Plus directly in the future).  Currently we have the $12 plan on both phones with occasional $10 top-ups.  I didn't notice any difference in service/coverage and initially kicked myself for dragging my feet so long on the switch.

I use Kitty wireless and Pageplus.   I really like it.

We just get $10 loaded on each of our phones every 4 mos....so it's a killer deal including data (mind you it's 0.10 a minute and 0.10 a Mb, so only for low usage people).   DH SAH, so he has the house phone all day (on Obitalk and Anveo for $3 a mo)and I use my work phone or if we're somewhere with wifi (like home and work) we IM through Googlechat, so we don't use much and this meets our needs.

I don't mind the 0.75 reload fee of Kitty because it amounts to less that $5 a year for DH and me and with it Kitty reloads our minutes before they expire and/or when they get below $2, so we never have to think about running out or keeping track.

I'll track how much we spend and if we ever go over, but based on past usage, I think our plans for 2 smart phones will cost us less than $100 a year.   Again, this is very light usage, but all the bells and whistles available for the few times a month we could use it, not having to add minutes ourselves or monitor anything for usual usage, and the ability to easily choose to add more minutes (for less per minute than our usual lading) easily if we think we'll have a rare heavy-use month coming up (eg, are traveling).   Oh, and obviously no contract so we can adjust easily if our needs ever change.

I'm on the $30 plan and I love it. I get great service and more data than I need.

Get used to the surcharges as that's a new America Movil thing (since the takeover went official), not just Kitty.

Same here.  I switched from Verizon.  PagePlus uses the Verizon network, so there was no change in coverage.  I'm saving about $65 a month.

Im on the 12$ plan. its awesome. You will probably want the 30$ plan for her 4s. There will be no diffrence since its the same network and the phone does not have 4G. Page plus is 3G only and so is her phone, so there is no reason to stay on VZW.

I have had it for about a year now. Switched from AT&T because they won't work in my basement where I live now.

I'll just chime in too, although it looks like you have already made your decision.  All that will happen is that you will save money.  The ONLY problem I have ever had was one night around 2 am my phone wouldn't work.  Apparently, there is a blackout when one month ends and the next one begins.  It happens briefly in the middle of the night.  That is what I was told.  Other than that, no issues.

Yes,  I have a phone of average intelligence (LG Cosmos) and made the switch from Verizon and have been very happy.  Also have the $29.95/month plan and it seems to be working just fine.

Thank you for all the reviews, question though, my contract isn't up until next Feb. Would it be better for me to switch now and eat the early term fee?

I think I pay about $65/mo the reason I am not sure is because we get it through my DH's work and it come out of his paycheck along with other things. I don't use my phone a whole lot and could easily curb a bunch of usage.

+1.  Been very happy with the service at Kitty.  Verizon's network is much better than the alternatives where I live.  I don't mind the 3G data speeds.  Love being able to bring my own phone.

I'm on the $12 plan and my wife is on the $30 plan. We like the coverage and service has been no issue. I do wish you could use more 4g phones without having to deal with flashing. I don't really care about 4g but it would be nice if my wife could use a newer model phone with a great camera when our phones eventually die.

In the meantime though we will just keep saving money.
