We test drove one in the summer and were not disappointed, however we settled on a low km 2014 Mazda3 hatchback instead. I appreciated the higher clearance of the CX-30 and if there were used ones on the market I might have been swayed. We had an '06 Mazda 3 hatch from new and now have the 2014. A few years down the road when there are used CX-30's around I will probably take another look. I just cannot justify the price tag of a new one at the moment!

My dad also test drove one after we did. He really liked it, but his golf clubs did not fit so he ended up with a CX-5. We all have different priorities! What are yours?

The only other 'con' for me was actually that it is a taller vehicle. I use the roof of my Mazda 3 for skis, bikes, and our Thule box. I can reach almost everything from the ground without having to climb all over the car.  I am capable of adapting, but for now am happy with the status quo!

i have a mazda 3 hatch back and my wife had a cx-5 before getting her mini van
both are great, from what i understand the cx-30 is similar in size to the mazda 3 but with more ground clearance but smaller than the cx-5

Mazdas are fun to drive and mine has had no issues other than poor speakers
are you wanting all wheel drive or ground clearance?

I have a Mazda3 Hatchback too.  10 years old, over 280,000 km.  The CX3 is built on the Mazda 2 wheel base, the Mazda CX30 is on the Mazda 3 wheel base, and the CX5 is on the Mazda 5 wheelbase.  I was curious so I asked, the last time I was at my dealership.

In my 17 years of driving Mazda’s, I’ve had one alternator go out, and no other major parts failures. They make good cars.

I can’t comment on that specific model.

We bought one in Sept. and love it. Here in Germany they call it a mini suv.

I got one as a loaner for a week while my 6 had recall work done. I loved it. I think Mazda gives you the best bang for the buck when buying a new car. My 6 is a 2010, with 160K miles, and have basically done the minimum on wear and tear. (brakes, new battery, tires, rotors, shocks and struts) Was able to do all of that myself after watching YouTube videos...save the shocks and struts...as my daughter did those (she's a mechanic)

The only feature I didn't like was the cruise control assist...basically it automatically slows down, or speeds up, the car depending on how close you are to the car in front of you. It's not a gentle slow down/speed up either. It's like hitting the breaks pretty hard to slow down vs. coasting, or flooring the car to get up to speed like your on an on ramp. I couldn't figure out how to turn that feature off either while using cruise.

GF has a CX-3 and loves it.  CX-30 obviously replaces the CX-3 and is a bit bigger.  My only gripe is that it could be a tad bigger so I bet the CX-30 is nice.  Otherwise CX-3 is a great car.

Mazda is underrated IMO.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
