There has been a rash of dormant threads being answered lately. I don't know what is going on. One person responded to a car seat question from a few years ago. The kids probably aren't in car seats anymore.
@GoCubsGo Mostly it's spammers.
They come in, put a basic sentence or two (sometimes copied from a previous poster, sometimes cobbled together based on the actual subject).
They then wait a few days. Maybe a whole month. It then becomes buried in the forum as other people post in that same thread, or it moves down in popularity. They post in older threads as they are established already with lots of replies and hope that other legitimate posters don't notice the dates and respond, thereby hiding THEIR soon to be spam post.
Then the spammer returns to add in a SEO/spam/keyword links. It might be actual text, or even added to a comma or signature. But they're counting on adding in spammy links to all their posts, and maybe if that slides by, continue to post spam as long as they can get away with it. They don't care so much about you or I clicking that link - great if you do - but it's all about the webcrawler bots from search engines and getting their spammy sites logged in as many places to get their rank up so when people search things, their spam hits higher and looks more legitimate.
Not saying that Robin is a spammer, but you'll find out the more they interact here. Could be a genuine new person that just happened across this thread.
But if at a later time, their reply suddenly has a link to a gambling site or vacuum reviews or garden equipment sales... then you know. ;)
